Painting done from photograph I had taken of view across field during winter, choice of colours helping to give sense of the season.

Here I have done some preliminary sketches of a view across Ashdown Forest as impressive as the view is I soon realised there was no obvious focal point, house on the hill too small to pick out any detail.
